The Double Trip ticket was available for "two single rail and bus trips on the co-ordinated ESR services as advertised" and issued from booking offices and specific purpose vending machines.
It is presumed that these machines were not located at Bondi Junction or Edgecliff as the co-ordinated bus routes fed into these stations. It is further thought that due to
low sales of this fare type, the specific purpose machines were later converted to Rail/Bus Single machines.

A totally new front design was in use by the UT9/83 printing. There were two changes on the rear - the wording at the fourth point was expanded, and "The holder of this ticket must use automatic turnstiles" was also added.
