Amazingly, even after the new blue "generic" designs were released, the original Metcard design has resurfaced with a totally new designator. All tickets so far reported have been bus (089) issues with either an S1 or S2 designator, and in the 255 or 256 million number group. This follows on from a series of this same design in the 254 million number group, but with designator "C". It is not known why this original design has been re-used, nor what the new designator represents. It could represent a special print run for bus use only, but time (and our investigations) may tell !
