Concession Date to Date

Page last modified/checked: Friday, 4 October 2002
This ticket is reviewed separately from the adult issue for a number of reasons. The zone system was introduced in October 1981, well into the last school term, so standing arrangements for student/concession travel remained unchanged. For the school year 1982 and 1983, a concession rail date to date was now offered, and like the adult issue was a triplicate, witht the bottom card being the travel coupon. These tickets were available for a minimum of six weeks and a maximum of 52 weeks, but could not be issued to overlap into the next year. The fare was calculated at a reduced weekly unit rate to the following applicants:

Students 4 to 14 years of age at 4/10ths rate
Students and Trainee Nurses 15, 16 and 17 years of age at 6/10ths rate
Students and Trainee Nurses 18 years and over at 8/10ths rate
