Private Bus Issues

No doubt the private buses all had arrangements for the issue of some type of periodical and student term tickets. The appearance of these would have varied considerably between the operators. Shown here is a school term ticket for the second term of 1983, issued by Ventura Bus Lines and valid on their route 734 services, the holder boarding in the fourth section and travelling to the first section.

Note the provision for at least two changes between services, if needed.

An interesting item to conclude this section is the Travelcard check ticket. These were issued to record all presentations of a Travelcard and assisted the private bus operators in claiming a subsidy from the State Government for their involvement in the multi modal fare system.
