Family Travelcard

Page last modified/checked: Sunday, 12 December, 2004

Family travelcard is related to the anywhere ticket range, but is reviewed seperately here because it was a distinct ticket type. It was sold from railway stations or tram and bus depots, and was available on all services across all 10 neighbourhoods at a fixed price - so it was not ideal for every family situation. For reasons unknown to us, family travelcard was not provided with the launch of the neighbourhoods in November. A staff circular advised that it would be received along with ticket stock for the accounting period commencing on the 11th December 1983. These duly arrived and family travelcards' yellow and white bands clearly identified its connection with the anywhere ticket range. The family charactatures look to have been borrowed from a students text book!
