Magnadata Pre-Encoded Blue Generic design

Earliest known issue dated: 8th March 2002

Page last modified/checked: Thursday, 20 June 2002
The first known Magnadata pre-encoded ticket, it is printed on a bright white card, with the standard slurry magnetic strip. Larger lettering for the ticket type and number can be quite easily seen. The rear features a pre-printed bar code for ease of issue at outlets equipped with bar code readers. The numbering fits into the existing 01003 sequence, in the 0 to 1,500,000 and 6,500,000 to 8,000,000 groups. Designators J-a1 to J-f4 inclusive are known; the first such use of J-e and J-f on a pre-encoded ticket. Unlike all previous pre-encoded tickets which were supplied in strips, these are supplied individually (pre-cut), thus there are no serations on the ends.

Not unexpectedly, the Rail + 2 tickets have also appeared as Magnadata issues
