Page created Tuesday, 3rd March 2009 - HTML 4.01 Transitional Last modified/checked: Friday, 26th April 2019 There were eight card bases provided for the opening of the E.S.R on 23rd June 1979 - Rail only card, Rail/Bus Single, Double Trip, 12 Multi Trip, Rail only Weekly, Rail only Quarterly, Bus/Rail Weekly and Bus/Rail Transit. From the 22nd July 1979, the 12 Multi Trip was withdrawn and replaced by the 10 Multi Trip. A Rail only Yearly was also introduced from that date making a total of nine different cards on issue. It is presumed that from the 25th September 1983, the Bus/Rail Travelpass card was introduced making a total of ten different cards on issue. 10 Multi trip tickets were abolished from the 28th June 1987, leaving a total of nine different cards on issue. Rail only yearly tickets were abolished during December 1987 (?), leaving a total of seven different cards on issue. Bus/Rail weekly tickets were abolished from the 3rd July 1988, leaving a total of six different cards on issue.
