Existing CityRail tickets were used until August 2000, when the Airport Link Consortium were required to provide their own tickets.
Tickets issued from CityRail stations to the Airport line continued to use whatever the current design was.

CityRail stock was also used for the pre-encoded single journey tickets sold from dedicated booths within the airport.
